Exciting Activities in North Devon

Ilfracombe is a small seaside town in North Devon, the South-West
of England. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the
National Park of Exmoor where the Bristol Channel meets the Atlantic Ocean. A few miles from Woolacombe beach and the stunning South West Coast Path runs right through Ilfracombe.

Things to do

Out and About

Ilfracombe is an ideal base for all that North Devon has to offer, including walking, cycling, surfing, horse-riding, golf and gardens.

Whatever the weather, there is something to do, and our cottage/Guest House/Apartment will make the perfect base for your holiday.

The area around Ilfracombe is classed as an ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’ and many guests enjoy the local walks, particularly walking the South West Coast Path. It is possible to arrange a walking guide and at the beginning of May there is a popular

Walking Festival which draws walkers from all over Britain and abroad.

Golf: There are numerous golf courses in the area including the championship links at

Saunton, the Parkland Golf course at Ilfracombe and the golf courses of Willingcott and Easewell less than a mile away.

Riding, surfing, wind-surfing and fishing are among popular activities and more leisurely activities include the Tractor and Trailer rides and Sheepdog trials together with Falconry exhibitions taking place in July and August in Mortehoe.

Marwood Hill Gardens, Arlington Court (National Trust) and Wistlandpound Reservoir are less than ten miles away and Exmoor, Lynton and Lynmouth are less than 15 miles from here.

And if all that isn’t enough, you can try your skills at

Quad Biking, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Indoor Climbing, Paintball and Sailing.
